So, I think I will jump right into the movie world -
Yesterday, I decided to take a break from homeworking and...surprise! watch a movie. I decide to watch the newly arrived netflix - The Things We Lost In The Fire - with Halle Barry and Benecio Del Toro. I have to say, the timing of watching the movie wasn't great. I was taking a break from reading in my Death and Immortality Religion class. I probably should have gone from something a little more uplifting. If you are looking for happy, this definitely isn't it.
The Things We Lost In The Fire is about a wife (Halle Barry) who loses her husband (David Duchovny) and has to deal with his best friend's (Benicio Del Toro) heroine addiction. Barry lets the Del Toro come live with her and her two children in hopes to save him from his drug addiction and feel better about hating him throughout her entire marriage to Duchovny. I think the movie was a little over-acted at certain points - for example while Del Toro was high - but I think Barry did a great job. Would I recommend it? If you are looking for a sad chick flick, or possibly a good drama...go for it. I definitely would not have paid $12 to go see it in theaters though.
Here's what we have to look forward to this week:
New to DVD:
Lions for Lambs
Water Horse
There Will be Blood
Walk Hard
New to theaters:
Leatherheads
Nim's Island
The Ruins
